YOU WILL SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE IN PRISON! ! ! We Can't Get IPOB Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Out From Prison, British Government Said This
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had hoped that British intervention would lead to his freedom from Nigeria' s detention.

Kanu, who holds both Nigerian and British passports, is now being detained in prison by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.

On Saturday, he was apprehended in Kenya and deported to Nigeria the next day.

Kanu, who was on trial for treason, was granted bail on medical reasons in 2017, but he violated all of the conditions of his release before departing the country.

Kanu incited his supporters against Nigerian authorities from his overseas base.

When he appeared in court on Tuesday, Justice Binta Nyako ordered him to be held in DSS custody until July 26.

His family had petitioned UK officials for his release so that he might be reunited with his family.

" The British High Commission in Nigeria must demand that my brother be released immediately. " Nnamdi Kanu must be restored to his wife and sons in the United Kingdom. Dominic Raab, the Foreign Secretary, must make it plain to Nigerian authorities that they will not accept the illegal imprisonment of British nationals and that the UK Government condemns Nigerians and Kenyans for subverting the rule of law, " said Kingsley Kanu, the IPOB leader' s brother, in a statement.

The British authorities made it plain in a handbook titled ' Support for British Nationals Abroad: A Guide, ' which was published on the UK government' s website, that they had a limited role to play in the incarceration of their people in prison.

We can also clarify when different rules apply to remand detainees and sentenced convicts. For example, in certain nations, inmates on remand are permitted to send more letters.

" If, on the other hand, you are not handled following globally recognized standards, we will consider contacting the local authorities. This may also be true if your trial does not adhere to globally recognized norms for fairness or is excessively delayed in comparison to local instances.

" With your agreement, we can consider filing a complaint concerning ill- treatment, personal safety, or prejudice by police or jail officials.

The frequency of your visits will be determined by local jail conditions as well as your particular circumstances.
